Why Up-cycling

For years, i've made a living assembling furniture my clients purchased from Ikea and other big box retailers. Often I found myself assembling the same item for multiple people (one cabinet from Ikea I assembled 17-times). Although very nice looking and stylish, the pieces were all temporary, nothing meant to last more than 10 years, or meant to be moved.

Often made of just pieces of particle board. They were both heavy and bulky. The benefits were cheap furniture that was delivered quickly at the expense of our environment.. and backs!

A Vision

Lets take what we already have. the items that look ugly or no longer work for us.. and re-imagine them, so that they can now work for us today, and for years to come.

That old television cabinet from 75 years ago......it would make a great fish tank or bookshelf.

That old headboard and footboard your kid used 40 years ago, today would make great entry bench.... in your recently downsized condo.
